Our Day by Day Kilimanjaro Hiking Rongai Route 6 Days / 5 Nights.

lemosho routeThis remote and less frequently used route is the second easiest route to Kilimanjaro. The approach to the mountain is from the less-forested north side and the descent is by the Marangu   Route.
   
There are several variations; the one described below is a longer route taking in Mawenzi Tarn. The second day on this variant is quite long and could be broken up into two days walk allowing more time for acclimatization.

The ascent to Uhuru Peak is the same as for the Marangu Route from the Kibo Hut but with more opportunity of landscape in Kenyan side for your first three days well you are ascending to Kibo hut.

Accommodation on the mountain is in tents (even on the descent) which the will be pitch for you with our team. You will need a sleeping bag, warm clothes and walking poles if needed. This is a steep, tough trek within the limits of a fit individual used to walking in mountain areas.
 
 Arrive hotel in Moshi (B&B).
 
Day 1: Drive around Local Villages surrounding Mt Kilimanjaro to Rongai Gate (1.30-hrs drive to reach Park gate, 2020mt (6565Ft.).

Here you will spend half an hour for registration and Permit for your climb after this procedure you will start your trekking  Walk through the rain forest to Campsite known as Simba Campsite(3-4hrs, 2700mt) 8775ft) Dinner overnight stay.

Day 2: After Breakfast Walk up through giant heathers and moor lands to Campsite  at Kikelewa campsite - near Kikelewa Cave (5-6h, 3650m) 11862Ft) Dinner overnight stay.
Distance: 10Km   
Time: 5-6hrs
 
Day 3: After breakfast Walk towards the jagged pinnacles of Mawenzi and Campsite by Mawenzi Tarn Hut, the last section is fairly steep, (3-4h, 4330mt) 14073Ft) dinner overnight stay.
Distance: 5Km
Time: 3-4 hrs

Day 4: This is  a fairly gradual walk as it mainly follows the saddle, and it is also  possible to go from Mawenzi Tarn hut to school hut 4750Mt( 15438Ft) and from there to Uhuru peak, Gain the Saddle and walk across this desert of screen to a camp not far from Kibo hut (3-4h, 4730m).
Distance: 6Km
Time: 5-6hrs

Day 5: Very earlier start your Journey to the summit on steep screen up to Gillman's Point (5-6hrs, 5681mt) on the crater rim, Continue around the crater  rim to Uhuru Peak (1h 45minutes, 5895m).  After reaching the summit descend to your campsite for breach and short rest about one hour before you continue walking down to Horombo campsite.
Total walking time about 12hrs.
Distance: 5Km Down to Kibo hut from the summit, 9.5km down to Horombo hut.lemosho route
Total: 15Km.
Time: 3hrs down to Kibo hut further down to Horombo Hut 3-4 hrs while you are increase Oxygen dinner overnight Horombo Hut.

Day 6: This is by easiest day as it is downhill and the oxygen supply increase as you go down, you will reach Mandara Hut at about launch time where your hot launch will be saved after launch Mandara hut complete your descent to Marangu Gate where the driver pick you –up at the park gate to the hotel in Moshi (B&B).
Distance: 18Km
Time: 5-6hrs.

Each person has 4 Support Crew in any camping.
