Our Day by Day Kilimanjaro Hiking Machame Route 6 Days / 5 Nights.

Mount Kilimanjaro Machame RouteSecond most popular route and more scenario nickname Whisky route. Beautiful forest, sometimes wild game can be sported along the trek; it offers best chances for acclimatization and more vegetation as well a great landscape, advised to good trekkers.

Day 1: Drive Hotel in Moshi to Machame gate 1800Mt.
Began trekking through the rain forest on a winding trail past the first uniform hut- campsite.
The trek takes 5-6 hours overnight at Machame campsite (3000mt/9350FT) dinner overnight.

Distance: 11Km
Time: 5-6 Hrs

Day 2: After breakfast leave the glades of the rain forest and continue trekking crossing a little valley and along a steep rocky ridge covered with heather and turn to the river Gogre at 3658mt, the trail goes up which provide you a very great scenic in a clear day which has blue sky you will have a wonderfully view over landscape, Overnight at Shira campsite 3840mt/ 12500Ft) 4-5hours trek dinner overnight.

Day 3: From Shira Campsite continue trekking 3-4hours to lava tower 4630Mt/15190Ft) this is a very important day to get Acclimatization which is very helpful to Avoid a Mt sickness, this called “The Sharks tooth” continue to the junction leading to arrow glacier then descend for Overnight Barranco campsite 3950m/13044Ft whole tour together from Shira campsite takes 5-6hours. Dinner overnight.

Distance: 10Km
Time: 5-6Hrs

Day 4: After breakfast Leave Barranco, Camp walk on a steep ridge passing the Barranco wall 4200Mt to karanga valley stop for Lunch after launch if you are doing 6days continue to Barafu campsite at 4600mt (this depend in your climb schedule you have booked (if you are taking for 7days 6nights this will be your fourth night overnight at Karanga Camp 3937Mt before hike to Barafu Campsite at the following day).

After leaving Barranco campsite you will start with a wall known as Barranco wall, this will bring you to 4200Mt reach the top of barranco wall, where you will have a short break before your descent to karanga valley. Soon you reach this top of barranco wall you will have a short beak here about 10-15 minutes while you have Opportunity over landscape before descending to Karanga valley “where you will have your hot launch.

Now you have completed the South Circuit, which offers views of the summit from many different angles. Here you make camp at 4600mt, rest, enjoy dinner late evening at 17hrs, and prepare for the summit day. The two peaks of Mawenzi and Kibo are to be seen from this position.

Day 5: Just after midnight trek to Stella point (5742mt) on the way to the summit “Uhuru Peak” (5895m) 19340Ft trek takes 6-7hours after reaching the summit descent to Barafu Camp for a short rest and breach before further descent for overnight at Mweka campsite (3100mt). Ascending from Base camp to Uhuru peak 5Km the descent back to Base camp 5KM.

Distance: Downhill to Mweka Campsite from Base camp, 12km downhill to Mweka Campsite.
Time: 4hrs downhill to Mweka Campsite, 3-4 hrs while you are increase Oxygen dinner overnight Mweka Campsite.

Day 6: This is by easiest day as it is downhill and the oxygen supply increase as you go down, you will reach  Mweka Gate 1640Mt (5380Ft) at about  11:00am  complete  signing out  and meet your vehicle here drive to the hotel in Moshi or Arusha (B&B).

Distance: 10Km
Time: 3-4hrs.
End of trekking tour.

Each person has 4 Support Crew in any camping.
