What is NOT included in price?

When is Rain season?

The rain season starts in mid-March till late May. There is also a short rain season of about two weeks in November. (Expect rain showers in the mornings and in the evenings) short rain season doesn't affect the game viewing. If you are planning to do a camping safari, be prepared for the rains, carry with you water proof gear. Our tents are all waterproof and can stand heavy rain. Kilimanjaro temperatures range from 5 to 15°C. The summit can be below freezing.

Which time is good to travel?

Lake Manyara Park, Arusha Park, Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area Authority all these areas are good all-round the year, Serengeti is beautiful in October-June, Tarangire also beautiful in dry season, Kilimanjaro/Mt Meru can be climbed at any time but the rainy season is generally not recommended due to snow and heavy rainfall.

Can I bring my family on safari/trek?

For Safari there are no age restrictions to visit the parks. Children below 11 years are not allowed to get beyond 3,000Mt on Mount Kilimanjaro or Mt Meru Choose a safari itinerary which is not tiresome to your family.

Can I join others for budget trip?

Since we have daily departures, we can join you in one of our groups or other partner we are collaborating with them. You should confirm the dates early and you should be flexible to available itinerary.

What are the possibilities to get on top of Kilimanjaro or Mount Meru?

We cannot tell who will conquer to the PEAK and who will not, 95% of our clients definitely get to Uhuru Peak. Trekkers who did not make it got challenged by Altitude Sickness we advise you to trek slowly in Kiswahili “pole pole”, drink lots of water during your hike and pay attention to symptoms. What is the mode of payment?

How do I get Amazing Usambara Trekking and Safari Co.Ltd on my arrival?

We do arrange Transfer from Kilimanjaro Airport, to Moshi or Arusha Airstrip, Dar es Salaam Zanzibar by sea or Air and Nairobi International Airports. What Vehicles are used on safari?

What happen if I fall sick on the Mountain?

The amount you paid for trek include rescue team, when you fall very sick the guide will report the case to rescue team who will quickly pick you from the point by assistance from your Guide who has a knowledge in rescue issues too, have known of incident down to the gate, we recommend flying doctors service membership to cover from the gate to the hospital at extra cost of $70 only. What exercise can make me fit before trekking?

First seek advice from your doctor before doing any exercise for gym training you should do: Stair muster in high & low spread, high & low resistance for two weeks. Cycling 25min twice a week, Leg press & Sit-up 3 set of 15 for a week, Knee & back extension 3 set of 15 for a week. You can also do hiking exercise like 5min of stretching thrice a week combine with 6km walk/run thrice a week for 7 weeks before the main Kilimanjaro climb.

How is the TIPPING done?

The tipping system used by Amazing Usambara Trekking and Safari Co.Ltd is an essential part of the Support crew, cooks, drivers and guides income. They work very hard to provide the best possible services but at the same time they expect good tips in return, just to know, 20%-25% of the total amount paid for safari/trek for the whole team would be fine, tipping is not a MUST but necessary.
